Product Overview

520% range. 343 grams. One cassette that does it all.

The Garbaruk 13-Speed GEN2.0 cassette for SRAM XPLR is the upgrade for gravel riders who have found the limits of the stock 10-46T spread. It preserves full compatibility with SRAM's 13-speed XPLR AXS drivetrain while extending the gear range from 460% to 520%—without switching to a mountain bike derailleur or accepting a weight penalty.

At just 343 grams, it is lighter than many 12-speed MTB cassettes that offer comparable range, and it delivers that range with a 10-52T progression designed to keep the gaps between frequently used gears small while providing a genuinely easy climbing gear for steep, loaded, or ultra-distance terrain. This is not a simple "add a bigger cog" exercise: the GEN2.0 platform is a ground-up redesign of tooth profiles, shift ramps, and chamfers, built to shift faster, run quieter, and stay precise even when indexing is not perfect.

Key Features

🏆 520% Range – The Widest XPLR Spread Available

  • 10-52T gearing extends the stock SRAM XPLR range from 460% to 520%

  • Progression: 10-11-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32-37-44-52T

  • Small jumps between the gears you use most, with a genuinely light bailout gear for steep gradients

  • Ideal for mountainous gravel, ultra-endurance events, bikepacking, or riders who want to run a larger chainring without losing climbing capability

⚡ GEN2.0 Shifting – Faster, Smoother, Less Setup-Sensitive

  • Redesigned upshift and downshift ramps with repositioned entry points for faster, more predictable shifts, even under high torque

  • Completely new tooth profiles improve chain engagement and shifting consistency under load

  • Indexing is less sensitive: in testing with AXS derailleurs, GEN2.0 still shifted smoothly even when intentionally set two clicks away from perfect indexing in either direction

  • Noise-optimised chamfers reduce chain contact friction and lower overall drivetrain noise

  • Mud-exit pathways between teeth allow grit and debris to escape faster, maintaining shift accuracy in wet and gritty conditions

🛡️ Chain Retention – Even When Backpedaling

  • New profiling on the largest sprockets keeps the chain locked in place during backpedaling—a common weak point on wide-range gravel setups

  • Optimised tooth shape holds the chain securely without sacrificing shift quality

🔧 Lightweight, Durable Construction

  • 343 g total weight

  • 12 steel sprockets for durability, plus 1 aluminium sprocket (the largest) for weight savings

  • The aluminium largest sprocket is replaceable, extending cassette life and allowing customisation

🎨 Colour Options – Match Your Build

  • Available in Black, Blue, Gold, Green, Orange, Red, Silver, and Purple

  • The colour applies to the largest aluminium sprocket, letting you coordinate with other Garbaruk components or add a personal accent

🚴 E-Bike Compatible

  • Approved for use on e-bikes and high-torque drivetrains

Compatibility – Read Before Ordering

✅ Freehub

  • Fits SRAM XD and XDR freehub bodies

✅ Derailleurs

  • Works with SRAM Red XPLR, Force XPLR, and Rival XPLR 13-speed AXS rear derailleurs

  • Rival XPLR and Force XPLR: cage upgrade is optional—works with the stock cage

  • Red XPLR: Garbaruk cage upgrade is required—the stock carbon cage is too thick for safe and consistent shifting to the 52T sprocket

✅ Chains

  • Officially compatible only with SRAM Flattop 12/13-speed chains

  • Do not use a non-Flattop chain—shift performance and drivetrain longevity depend on the Flattop interface

⚠️ Installation Notes

  • Depending on the derailleur model, a small plastic cover on the cage may need to be removed to create clearance for the 52T sprocket, and Garbaruk supplies offset covers for the upper pulley bearings

  • Follow Garbaruk's XD-compatible cassette installation guide for correct setup

What Riders Are Saying

"I have the v2 Garbaruk 13 speed 10-52, been using [it with an] XPLR mech and Force chain. Shifting is perfect, up and down the block and it is very quiet. Shifting is noticeably better than the Eagle Transmission it replaced—always one gear in the middle of the block it doesn't quite like!" — Escape Collective Community

"Schalten unter Last… vom zweiten in den ersten Gang kein Problem, butterweich… vom ersten dann wieder zurück in den zweiten… auch kein Problem, butterweich… alles unter Last jenseits der 300 W." — Rennrad-News Forum Member
(Translation: "Shifting under load… from second to first gear, no problem, buttery smooth… from first back to second, also no problem, buttery smooth… all under load beyond 300 W.")

"The new cassette retains full compatibility with SRAM XPLR AXS 13 drivetrains while increasing the gear range from 460 to 520 percent." — Magazyn Bike

"The 10-52T set allows small differences between the most frequently used gears while offering a very light ratio for the hardest climbs." — Magazyn Bike

About Garbaruk

Garbaruk is a Polish manufacturer specialising in high-performance drivetrain components that offer something beyond the stock offerings of the major brands. The brand is known for low weight, excellent build quality, and carefully engineered construction—and its cassettes and chainrings are used across MTB and gravel disciplines. The GEN2.0 platform is the result of extensive R&D through 2025: what began as a small update became a complete redesign of tooth profiles, ramps, and chamfers, while retaining the hardened steel monoblock and single aluminium sprocket that Garbaruk considers the best balance of weight and durability. The 13-speed XPLR cassette is Garbaruk's answer for riders who need more range without abandoning the precision and integration of SRAM's XPLR ecosystem.
